Monthly Message

The Wutherich & Co. Composite was down 3.1% in January. This compares with the S&P 500, down 3.0%, the DJIA down 3.6%, the NASDAQ down 2.1%, the S&P/TSX up 0.5%, while the BMO Small Cap Index was flat at 0.0%.
Weak performance in our Energy related stocks continues to weigh on our portfolio. While we may trim several of the weaker names that we own in the space, we will keep the bulk of our holdings and even selectively add to one or two.
